Character Engine is our in-house Character System — the soul engine that powers Companion and every character-driven product we will ship. We model an NPC's personality, growth history and relationship state in a way that is consistent across long interaction histories, not just within a single conversation.
The engine sits behind whatever surface a partner ships: a game NPC, a chat companion, an interactive narrative, a virtual idol. We provide the personality core, the memory schema and the consistency guarantees; the partner provides the world, the visuals and the dialogue style.
We are using Character Engine internally first, validating it through Companion against real long-tail player behaviour before opening it externally. Licensing is in the pipeline — we are working with a small number of design partners.
A character has its own growth history and memory · Personality cannot be changed by a single prompt · It can only be shaped, slowly, through long-term company.
