ORDO (formerly HUM)
A Mac tool that lets you type by speaking.
ORDO (formerly HUM) is a macOS voice input tool built for the people who type for a living — engineers, writers, researchers and operators. Speak, and the words land directly in whatever you are editing, 3-5× faster than typing and ready to be pasted into the document as-is.
Everything happens locally on your Mac. There is no cloud round-trip in the recognition path: audio is captured, transcribed, corrected, optionally polished, and inserted — all on-device. No upload, no retention.
Beyond plain dictation, ORDO includes a Selection Assistant: highlight any text or capture a region of the screen and ask the model to translate, rewrite, summarise or explain it — by voice, in place.
